DOCTORS attending to former crown prince Paras Shah have said that he
is on
the path to recovery and has been removed from ventilator support from
Sunday. The Bangkok-based Samitivej Hospital issued a statement on
Monday, stating that Shah has
regained consciousness and is able to
communicate and drink water without assistance. After suffering a major heart
attack on
February 19, the former crown prince was rushed to the hospital by his
friends. He was unconscious for nearly two weeks and
kept in the critical care unit of the hospital. Doctors said Shah’s blood
pressure and body temperature have also returned to normal. Source said the
doctors are preparing to perform the magnetic resonance imaging of Shah’s brain,
the result of which will allow them to determine the further course of
treatment.
